What does LOVE mean to you?
I have been thinking about LOVE this week with Valentine's day coming up and about all the different ways we show it, share it, feel it and appreciate it. Styling Mrs Oliver's tip: Don’t forget to LOVE yourself!
Caring for yourself is an act of survival and not self-indulgent. Show your loved one's how much you care, but don't forget to love yourself. Life is too short, rejuvenate your body and mind with "me" time, look after yourself, believe in yourself, and learn to nurture yourself.
5 easy steps to LOVE yourself:
Take time out and do something just for you.......
1. Exercise. It could be 1 hours walk in the park or a workout at the gym. Exercise is a great way to focus your thoughts and create a little "me" time with benefits.
2, Read a book. This is easier for some than others, I try and read at night and end up falling asleep after 1 page. If mastered properly, it is a great way to escape and relax for a while and de-stress.
3. Have a massage. It is amazing how powerful this can be. We all build up tension in our back and shoulders, do a bit of research and find a great place to get a massage and soothe away some stress.
4. Get your hair done. I know this is superficial but it works. Looking well groomed has such an amazing impact on our self-esteem, ask for a head massage and have a good cut and blow dry to lift your spirits.
5. Buy a new outfit. If you have new hair then you might as well go for it and get a great new outfit to go with it. Look after yourself, buy something that makes you feel like a million dollars (it is easy to do this without spending much at all)
Styling Mrs Oliver tip: Remember to choose something that fits and flatters you now and not later when you think you might lose weight. This is a typical reason why wardrobes are choked with clothing that is never worn.
